I am Deputy Russell Shaneyfelt, Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.  I am excited serve another year as the School Resource Officer (SRO) for both Gaston High and Gaston Elementary. It is a pleasure to work with the staff and students of both Schools.

It is my goal to work in a collaborative effort to enhance positive, communicative, and productive relationships among law enforcement, students, school personnel and parents to foster a safe and secure educational environment.

I’m very thankful for the opportunity to fulfil my role as your SRO at Gaston and am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each of you.  Together, we can make this school year our best one yet – even in a time of adversities and challenges!
